Old "Best Quality" Shotgun Poul Poulsen, Copenhagen

16 gauge. Very high quality made shotgun, with engraved sidelocks and engraved lock/receiver. Damast barrels - bright inside. The barrels are marked with "P.Poulsen, Kjøbenhavn" inlayed in gold. Very nice english stock with 2 separated and engraved buttcaps. British proofmarks, probadly british made and imported into Denmark around 1900 by poulsen.
Under the forend of the stock fitted with a silver shield with the coat of arms of the danish family "Krabbe Juel".
A very high quality shotgun in a very good condition, except it has been drilled with 2 x 3/16 inch holes in the barrels during the german occupation 1940-45 on demand of the german security police.
